I really don't have any advice for you, just wanted to say she's beautiful! And I understand how you feel, my dogs are all part of the family, I can't imagine someone telling me I would have to "get rid of" one. Hope you can work things out.

Have you tried to shave her? That's what we do with our dogs (both 70+ lbs and have quite a lot of fur) during Spring - Summer: just shave them very short with the dog or horse clipper 2-3 times / season. Yes, she won't look as cute as she is, but it'll be easier on her in a heat and not as much hair in house (to keep your dad more happy).

Oh man if you were closer I would totally let her stay with me. She is adorable.

I would try shaving her and completely keeping her away from your dad. Maybe you can train her to just not go near him ?? I know we had to train my puppy though she is small and our familys great dane mix to great my grandma in a certain way or else she would downright refuse them to even be in the room with her. If they are nutty she physically can't handle it and they need to leave the room. And its worked so far.

Maybe something like that can help :/ goodluck hope everything works out for you and your fam and belle.

Instead of shaving her try a Furminator instead and possibly regular groomer visits. I know firsthand how much hair a groomer can get out of a dog. That doesn't help with the rest of it, but will cut down on the hair. All shaving does is make the shed hair shorter. Lol

As for the rest, it seems that she has probably become your dad's focus for his unhappiness. There's not really much you can do about that besides keep her out of his way as much as possible and maybe encourage your parents to get some counseling.
