Getting annoyed with my dogs trainer!

So I am paying a friend for a 6 week puppy class where once a week I get together with my friend and her friend and their dog, so my friend can train us to train out dogs.
I'm getting frustrated though. Because, my friend tell us to do something through the week, so I do. But then she gets upset I didn't take the next step, but she NEVER told me how, or even to take the next step!
Another example she'll teach my puppy something, and so I know he knows how to do it, but she doesn't show me how to do it with him! So then I have no idea what to do!
Another thing I am not happy about is her, her mom, and the other lady talk over half the class and we get nothing done!
I feel like I wasted my money! I'm not happy.

I would ask for a refund. Even if you don't get your money back, get a new dog trainer anyways.

If it was a normal trainer I would, but she's a friend and I don't want to hurt her, :/ I don't know what to do.

Some valuable advice... and something you are already learning on your own. "Don't do business with friends or family."
At this stage, all you can do is calmly voice your frustrations to her and ask for a bit more help with what she wants done on the "homework" sessions.

Good luck! Dog training should be FUN and if it isn't you are doing it wrong. If you are frustrated or upset, do not train your dog. Do this only when you are in a calm, patient mood. You will get so much more done with your dog in a much shorter time if you do that. :)

Then forget the refund, but I would still get a new trainer. Just be upfront and honest about why you think it would be more beneficial to train with somebody you don't know on a personal level. Besides, its not about hurting her feelings, it should be able you and your puppy getting the training you both need and deserve.

Thanks y'all! Do you think it would be ok to ask if I could do the last class without the other person?

If she was a friend she shouldn't have asked for money. The minute she did it became a business arrangement. Think about how "friend" she'd be if you took the classes and didn't pay her. The first thing I taught my St.B puppy was to sit and to do it without fail. One day he slipped his collar and ran for home. Problem was it was across a fairly busy street. I holler Sit and he did and waited for me. He was happy with all the loving attention he got.

Wow that's awesome you got your dog to do that! I never thought of the money situation like that.
