Goldfish!

Hey everyone! I'm rather fanatical about goldfish and was wondering if anyone else on here was also a fan of goldfish, and if anyone on here kept them!

I currently have 4 goldfish, two fantails, one butterfly telescope and one pearlscale. They currently live in a 33 gallon tank (yes, it is overstocked as of right now but the pearlscale and telescope will be moving away with me to college into a 20 gallon) along with 3 apple snails (soon to be two, I'm taking a snail with me as well).

And here they are:

This is Pigeon, one of two fantails that were the original occupants of the 33 gallon.

He started out as the runt, about half the size of the other fantail and has gained almost an inch and a half in the time I've had him. He was originaly calico, but has since lost all his black coloring. He's still such a handsome muffin though.

This is the other fantail, France.

He is almost all tail fin, and an endearing little guy. He isn't growing as much as Pigeon, and I highly suspect he was stunted when he was a fry.

Here is my love, Ophie (The telescope butterfly)

She is my favorite, not only because I have a soft spot for telescopes, but because she is by far the most friendly, curious, intelligent and trainable of all the goldies. And here is a picture of Ophie in her check-up bowl since goldfish were meant to be veiwed from above, and I think she looks stunning:

And Gilbert, the baby pearlscale and the newest addition to the tank!

Right now he is the size of a small grape, and he should reallt be a stunner when he reaches an adult size of, roughly, a large orange.

So, anyone else keep goldfish?

Wow jazzyrider, you must have a 60 gallon to properly house all those! Lucky you! I know what you mean about naming them, the only one I'm sure of the gender is Ophie, because she was retaining eggs when I got her. The others got male names even though they haven't displayed breeding stars yet.

Farmpony84, I like the flaver blasted cheedar ones myself. ;)

Small_Town_Girl, I lke the googly-eyed ones myself (telescopes and/or moors). They are absolutly my favorite type!

My parents have a huge 75 gallon tank, and they keep an
Assortment of different types of fish. They have one catfish
(small one), a few goldfish, brim, and crappie.

My fave fish has to be the rope fish though, they remind me of
A chinese dragon! I used to have one two years ago until the
Sucker fish killed him. :(

Wow, I wish I could get myself a 75 gallon.

I think rope fish look pretty awesome, though I've never kept them myself (just a few small tropicals over the years and now goldfish).

The crappie has one of the best names for a fish, doesn't it?

Aww, I'm so sorry your goldfish passed away so early. Most goldies live to 20-25 with proper care, and it's pretty darn easy to get so attached to them.
