I think my dog might be in some kind of pain, but I don't know why or exactly where. . He is a 9 or 10 year old Maltese. He was a rescue and we really have no info on him from his past owner. I've only had him for about a year, so there's a chance he could've had a past injury before we got him. We suspected he was in pain a while ago because he was yelping constantly, biting anyone who tried to touch him and walking stiffly. . Took him to the vet, and they said he could have limes disease, which would make him achey, but they don't know what else could cause him pain. Gave us a weeks worth of antibiotics and pain killers. For a while now, he's seemed back to normal, but not completely. He doesn't yelp or limp or anything anymore, but he will still bite or run away when I try to touch around his butt, hindlegs, or the far end of his back. Should I take him back to the vet? Or just mention it the next time I'm there? Is he in pain or just doesn't like being touched there??
