Hedgies anyone?

I am going tonight to see the hedgehog breeder I really hope everything works out as I am missing having a pet but my husband is a little upset at the initial cost :(

So has anyone else here got hedgies? Any tips for me tonight when I see them? Any tips in regards to housing, bedding, feeding etc? The breeders website and others have got me pretty much prepared but I would love some more first hand stories

I don't personally have one but back when I had guinea pigs and I was part of a guinea pig forum (guineapigcages.com, then the forum) there were a few people who had them (and were really really knowledgeable) and I was SO envious! Haha
I'm not sure if those people are still active or anything though because I haven't been active on that site in around 2 years.

If/when you get one I'd absolutely love to see pictures! =D

Edit: I don't know if you're inclined to rescue a hedgehog but there are hedgehog rescues out there that probably have babies, for a cheaper price than a breeder (most likely), and you'd be saying a life.

They are the cutest, sweetest, most adorable little creatures ever! Jonathan and I were there an hour snuggling with them. I loved it and my allergies weren't bothering me So after talking about it we are going to get one I hope we can get him this weekend, we need to get a home sorted, food and bedding etc first

Hedgies are illegal in Pa, unless you are a licensed breeder, or have a permit for rescue. I had a permit when I had my small animal rescue, and had one little guy come in for a few weeks. He ended up at a rescue center in New York, and was quickly adopted. They are such sweet little critters, I'd love to have one of my own!

Jonathan and I went to pick him up last night so here are a couple pics of him, excuse my grossness I had spent the day in the sun hehe

The Cutest Thing Everrrrr

He would curl up in a tight ball then unfurl to this and just sit there

He recognises Jon as his dad cause of the prickly beard

Thinking he is so smart "hiding"

His fave thing ever

And he loves rolling it around

I am in love

And his baby pic when he was 4 weeks old, awww

I hope to get some really good pics later, but our SLR camera was scaring him as the shutter was quite loud hehe.

Oh. My. Goodness. I think that is one of the cutest little creatures I have ever seen!

Congratulations! What's his name?

If he turns up missing it TOTALLY wasn't me. Just sayin'.
