Horse MSM joint supplement for dogs?

So, one of the women I board with over the college school year gives her dog (with some joint/knee problems) the linked to MSM horse joint supplements. He is a lab, and she give about 1/8th teaspoon each day with his food. From what I've seen, he is doing SO much better on the MSM... He acts like a puppy again!

Has anybody else used this? How well did it work for you? Our dog is a big 180 pound mastiff, and he is an old man of 8 years. His back hips are starting to get arthritic, so I'm excited to find an alternate to buying the dog supplements (pretty much the same thing, just more expensive).

I use Regenex which has Gluclosamine, Chondroitin and MSM in it. All 3 work together to get the best results for your animals. I swear by it. I use the horse stuff for my dogs and just divide out what I need for them. It's MUCH cheaper and lasts forever this way.

I've heard of horse MSM being given to dogs. Never tried it, but if I ever had to, I would :)
