Amazing find!

I work as an associate at my nearby pet store and I'm always browsing the bettas to see if any nice ones come in. I've been working there for a year and a half now and have never seen a marble.

Have you thought of a name for him yet?

O.O I don't have an aquarium allowing me to have a fish that big, EdmontonHorseGal. XD

Wild Heart-Thank you! I didn't think I'd be one of the "lucky ones" and get a marble. I thought he was simply a 'Piebald colored' boy and since he was so unique, I went ahead and got him. When I was told he was a marble, I was so thrilled and shocked. XD As for the name, I figured his first name would be Oliver. I'm still thinking of some ideas. I don't think I can ever get a name as epic as my old Crowntail's name (Olly Gaylord Francis) or of my current EE male (Ozwald Gibson Radnor), but I'm really trying to pick a good one. XD

Aw man, he is so gorgeous....I really want another Betta, but my cat ate my last one and I'm concerned she'll eat a new one if I bring it home :/ They're so stunning and the only fish I can manage to keep alive, LOL

Pssh.I didn't pick up the wrong lead
It's called a counter canter...
...A very advanced maneuver.

Oh, I absolutely love my bettas.(:
I had got one for my..11th birthday that I had named Joey..my mum would just dump food in every morning and evening when I was away with my dad for weekends and one weekend he turned up dead..Neither parent was worried and flushed him right down the toilet D: I, on the other hand, was absolutely devastated.
Now that I'm a bit older, I only feed mine two or three times a week to avoid bloat, which is what Joey died of.

I absolutely love your guy, he's beautiful! I'm going to have to stop by the pet store and see what they have in stock for now..they were pricing the dragonscales and double tails at almost $20 last time I was there o.o

I have three now: Zorro, Jeremiah, and an unnamed (because he isn't personable at all).

Jeremiah hasn't eaten for the 5 months I've had him..I bought 8 different types of food to see if he just didn't like it..but he doesn't eat anything. I don't know HOW he's still alive! I've started just leaving what he hasn't eaten within 5 minutes in there, so I would assume he's picking off the bottom after I stop watching.
Zorro is absolutely lovely, everytime I walk past his tank he comes out from under his bridge and greets me..He won't do it for anyone else though, haha. He jumps up for his food too! If he even feels my footsteps he gets out of his bed to see what's up.
And Unnamed..well, he doesn't do much of anything. He actually eats though, lol.

The big blue with red fins is Jeremiah, and the teal/blue is Zorro.

SorrelHorse-Thank you! As for getting a new Betta...why not get a tank with a lid? XD Unless your cat is a super genius :P

Iseul-Your boys are absolutely handsome! I especially like Jeremiah! ^-^

bettas should always have a lid on their tanks, they can be avid jumpers!

Iseul, it is not so much the frequency of feeding that can cause bettas to bloat, it is the type of food. Freeze dried food and any other kind of floating food can cause the betta to gulp air from the tank surface while they eat, and this can cause bloat. I feed my tanks every second day, and after keeping bettas since late 2007 I have never once had one die due to bloat. Small sinking pellets are great for them, as are frozen bloodworms.
