My newest addition!

So, I had gone to the Birmingham reptile show in search of either a hogg island boa or Nicaraguan boa. Went around the reptile show at least 6 times and they had 2 hoggs there but they were females and a bit larger than I really wanted to start with.
As we were wrapping it up I went over to HouseofReptiles, LLC and kinda sifted through and saw a columbian rainbow boa that caught my attention. They guy asked if I wanted to hold her and I said "No thank you." He said "Why sure ya do!!" and he plopped her down in my hand. It was over after that!
She has the BEST personality! She lets you rub the top of her head, scratch her under her chin, she's slow moving and very calm. Absolutely not what I was looking for but I'm so completely attached to her already its ridiculous!

She was sexed female by the head of the rep show and we've decided to name her Rayne.

Hehe she curled up and sat in my palm until I moved her into her cage.



Spent forever drinking water. I think she was a bit dehydrated from the show.


Then she decided to take a dip and chill watching mom.

Wow, gorgeous! I love snakes, but the biggest I could own would be a corn snak. I couldn't take feeding rats. F?T mice yes, but for some reason not F?T rat, weird, huh?

Wow so beautiful! I worked at the Oregon Zoo for four years and love feeding the snakes. Your lucky to own one :-D

Cool. I used to have a 6ft boa constricktor named Stumpy :) BUt she died. I was first 3y.o when I "held her"

She actually wont got much larger than a full grown corn snake. Maybe about 4ft and about as round as a corn snake. =D

I'll take a few more pics here eventually. She just arrived at my house yesterday after being shipped from AL. I held her a wee bit last night and she was fine with it but I'm giving her a bit of time to adjust. =D

I also got a frog-eyed gecko that i'll post in a separate thread once I get the pics uploaded.

Yep i'm still here. But with a different job sadly. Though I am looking into saddle making for a part time job hehe.

She's so pretty! I held some kind of big snake a couple months ago and loved it! I don't know what people find creepy about snakes.. I like them. It's spiders that I can't take, I can't evenlook at them.

Lol I have 7 of those too. I actually got a tarantula to get over my fear of spiders. In the process I completely fell in love with them, got my mom over her fear and my ex-boyfriend. He owns them now too. LOL

Once you get over the initial shock of what they are and you start seriously doing research on them, they really aren't that bad. People being afraid of spiders to me, is like someone being afraid of your horse. Lol you just don't get why? LOL
