Talking New Bird!!!

I just brought home a new pineapple green-cheeked conure!! She's 8 months old and really, really sweet. She hasn't bit any of us even though she met five total strangers today and has had to adjust to a whole new setting (though she came with her cage, toys, and food from her previous home, which is great for the both of us!). She really is doing extremely well, all things considered!
I've only ever had parakeets before, but I've always loved bigger, more intelligent birds and it's always been a dream of mine to be able to get one like this. I'm super excited for the opportunity! As you may or may know, I am circumstantially forced to be horseless for awhile which is extremely difficult for me, but I'm really glad to at least have some (intelligent!) animal of my own to love on all day and keep me busy (and save me from having to resort to normal human interaction ).
She hasn't been sexed yet, but since she strikes me as a girl I'm going with that until that's all officially sorted out. I was going to wait until she is sexed before giving her a name, but just for the hell of it I gave some thought to some unisex names that I like and I'm really beginning to lean towards Olive because I've always loved that name. She had to go to bed already because iit's very late here, I am not at all an (beware of bad pun) "early bird", but that will probably change right quick when I get tired of waking up to feed her then going back to sleep every morning, lol, which will be good for me anyway. Tomorrow after I've spent more time with her thinking about it I'll know for sure if that's going to be it.

Anyway...sorry for the rambling, on with the pictures!

WoWza!! Sooo cute, congrats! I would love to own a conure, i've heard they learn to talk very easily & are pretty smart. I actually nearly bought a Sun Conure about 2 weeks ago but i'm kinda glad I didn't now because I don't have the time they need atm.

I have 2 Galahs (cockatoo's) already & they are a handful

Yeah, they definitely need a lot of time! I was reading somewhere that this particular type of conure is supposedly not very easy to teach to talk, but still probably easier than the parakeets were. My parakeet knew how to say "pretty birdie"...it took forever and was all he ever learned lol
They are supposed to be excellent at learning tricks though, I can definitely see that potential in her. She's definitely got some brains!

And thank you both! She's been such an absolute joy, she has a really great temperament and she's already loving all of her people, lol

Here's some more pictures I took today of us together and of her after a bath (she absolutely loves baths!)

She is absolutely beautiful! I have a peach front conure as well as a sun conure (and several other small parrots)...they sure are a handful, but they are so much fun!
