Why do I have an issue with this? Because breeding needlessly is irrisponsible - period.

Just because you have a female, and just because you have a male - does not give you the right to breed. It isn't "I have so therefore I must" - I think it is rediculous.

This is why we have so many unwanted animals in this world as it is - because of this over breeding irrisponsibillity in people who think they have the right to do so.

I don't give a $#!+ if it is a dog, cat, horse, hamster, guinea pig, bird - regardless.

We are the one's with the power, they are the one's who have to deal with our choices.

Makes me sick.

Morganshow11, you can't even afford one rat! Why the h*ll do you think you can afford to breed!? That's at LEAST three cages (aren't you still saving for one cage), food and bedding for a possible 20 rats, plus the possible medical bills if something goes wrong. Plus, pet store rats SHOULD NOT BE BRED. They are nott well bred and have many issues with tumors, and are more prone to general illness then a well bred rat. They have shorter life spans too.

And what wil you do with the babies? It's not easy to find homes, why do you think rat rescues are over flowing. There is a good chance your only option would be to sell them for snaik food. ""There's nothing wrong with that, but are you willing to do that?
I think that goes to the OP of this thread as well.

Rat breeding is tons of fun and a good experience...
really?? For who? Obviously you - your the one who has fun with it - not the rats. Did they get a say in this? Do they get to say "no sorry"

People like you, are the reason why rescues are crammed packed - irrisponsible pet owners. Grow Up.

That is the perfect example of rudenss. What you said there really pissed me off. I have no trouble paying for my rats. Hell, I pay for two horses and I still have money to buy food and treats and all that stuff for my rats.
You had no buissness saying that

I kind of agree with the people that said rats shouldnt be bred just for food.

They cost $600+ and they have bloodlines better then my horses!! Or mines (and yeah I don't give a fllip that in insulted my self.). AND GUESS WHAT ELSE I don't FORCE NO ONE TO HAVE SEX. Not a dog or cat or goat or horse, rabbit, what ever. They do it on their own!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So guess what PUT A SOCK IN IT. O and guess what else im going to be SOOO evil and eat the babies.

ANIMALS MAY HAVE RIGHTS BUT IF THE GET PREGGO WE SURE AS H3LL don't MAKE THEM DO IT. What do we do ? AI on a rat? Yeah BS. They have a choice and they chose it.
