Smile the odd couple

It's a long story as to why, but this winter we have kept our goat in the kennel with my husband's bird dog, Ace. They share the outdoor kennel as well as sleep together in the heated dog box. Well, the two have become quite close and my husband snapped these pics that I wanted to share.

He's standing guard over his goat:

We hope the goat doesn't start pointing and the dog start head butting

That is so cute! My husband took our Jack Russell to a friend's house last week and one of his friend's Nigerian Dwarf does head butted poor Max right into the wall!

We're moving to a farm soon. My daughter wants goats and chickens. Hopefully, Laura B will teach us a thing or two about chickens...

Are you absolutely sure you wanna mess with my carrots?

Those pictures are just adorable Jen!!!!

Oh Joshie... You're going to love having chickens!!!! Just shout if you have any questions!! I have a good picture of my daughter ruining my hubby's bird dog (not that he was ever properly trained but it's hopeless now)!!!

071.jpg

This is a chick that we hatched out of our incubator from some eggs that we collected from our chickens. The chick is just about one week old here. We managed to hatch 10 out this round. We've become quite the zoo... You can see the box we have our chicks in beside korrie and the dog, then the kitty box then up on the counter is my incubator...this is SUPPOSE to be my laundry room...not a petting zoo!!!

That dog is a SAINT!!!! I honestly feel he's the best dog we've ever had, he tolerates EVERYTHING!

Korrie will take each chick and set it on Tanner and she handles their wings and them daily...She takes them outside when it's nice enough and lets them run...I swear she's the critter whisperer.

Be strong and courageous, and do the work. Don't be afraid or discouraged by the size of the task, for the Lord God, my God, is with you. He will not fail you or forsake you.
