Awwwwhhh, I have always wanted one, I just could never really find one for sale near me, and let's face it I have enough animals for now. Totally adorable though!

Horses aren't my whole life, they make my life whole.

What a babe!!! I always thought that it was awful that they're illegal to own in CA... Wonder what hooligan came up with that law.

If anyone is considering getting one I would suggest getting from a certified breeder (there is a genetic issue called wobbly hedgehog syndrome. it is a neurologic condition that is not manageable or curable) I took a risk and found him on craigslist!

They are only prickly when they are scared or upset. When they are relaxed their quills lay flat and it almost feels plastic-y. They have furry heads and bellies though!

When they are upset it does hurt slightly but unlike porcupines, they can't shoot their quills so you don't have to worry about a handful of quills!

He's fantastic but they're a lot of responsibility. In order to have a social, friendly hedgehog you have to handle them daily and it's suggested for at least an hour a day. I honestly only get him out maybe 5 days a week and he's still friendly but not as friendly as he could be :P

When they roll up into a ball, a pair of oven mitts works great for picking them up.

I am not here to promote anythingNo, that's not true, I am here to promote everything equestrian and everyone enjoying horses!

Just FYI.....porky's don't shoot their quills. They let go at the slightest touch and they will stick, but no "shooting" them.
