pets in 2x2x1 cage?

So I found out my collage allows us to have pets that can be kept in 2x2x1 cages...of course anything bigger than a guinea pig isn't allowed, but I was wondering what pets can safely be kept in 2x2x1 cages?

I am not looking at getting a pet because I have to fly to another province for school, but I like to see what exactly I could get away with if I lived in that province, that and I need to pay for riding, not pet food for a small creature.

Basically just rodent type animals I'd imagine. Guinea pigs, mice, gerbils, hamsters. Maybe a bird?

To add to Poco's list, small rabbits would probably be okay too.

Oooh yea! Snakes, lizards, geckos, turtles? I guess if you wanted you could do tarantulas or scorpion type pets as well!

Lol if they keep making those teacup designer dogs much smaller you'll fit one of them in there!!!

Rats! Rats make much better pets than any hamster or guinea pig. Much less stinky than a mouse or gerbil.

Sounds weird, but I had a beta that I swear I loved just as much as my dog or cat.
His name was Simon Cornelius. A very sophisticated beta, if you can't tell.
I actually cried when he died. He was awesome!

Our beta was great too! We named her Lauren. Seeing as my roommate and I were both named Lauren why not make it a threesome? Haha. She actually got happy and swam more when she saw us, with or without food and was a great little pet to have. She even lived a really long time until a tragic water changing incident :(
