pics of duckling hatching :)

We wanted to add some more ducks to our flock of five this spring and instead of buying them thought it would be fun to hatch them ourselves. We started with 10 and three died early on. Then, this morning there was a pool of yolk under one that had started to break through. Still wondering what happened to that one. So, of the six left it looks like four are going to hatch. Not bad for our first try, though, I think. Anyway, the first one hatched about an hour ago and we're pretty excited.

EEEK! ADORABLE!!! I LOOOVE DUCKIES!

I have always wanted my own duck, and I'd name her Gosslin. Or a boy named Launchpad.

Love the name Launchpad, LOL!

He is a very tired duck...and lonely as nobody else has hatched yet. He's dry and fluffy now. Will have to get a new pic up.

So cute. I go into tractor supply and "play" with the chicks and ducklings all the time. We have a chicken coop at the new house but my husband said no chickens : (.

Aww, what an adorable duckling! I hope the rest of his pals hatch soon so he won't be all alone for long.

Thanks guys! Here are some more pics. The four I was expecting have hatched and to our surprise #5 will be hatching, too. :)

Number 2 on his way. Number 1 was pecking at him helping him along.

Well, sadly #5 didn't hatch. But we have 4 adorable fluffballs that we plan on keeping and since we only wanted to add 3 or 4 more I guess it worked out for the best.
