Smile The Story of Star the Cat

Star is a beautiful creamy orange un-nutered male cat that I saw one day at a friends house. He was very shy but let me pet him just a little. That night he came to my house. I was very surprised to see that it was the same cat. That night I caught him and put him in the utility room for a while I made a call to a neibor. It was not their cat so then I called my parents who were away at the moment and they said to keep him there until they got home. While I was waiting I gave him the name star because he has a star on his nose and he also found out that cat food tastes delicious. After awhile I could pet him freely. When my parents got home they said he could be our barn cat where I keep my pony in the neighborhood. We dove him down there at 10:00pm with some water, food and a litter box. The next day he was gone. There were workers there in the morning and let him out. I was very sad. But I was very over joyed when he came back the next night!! It surprised me so very much because our house is half a mile or so away from the barn. So we took him down to the barn again. The next day he was gone, the workers again. The next night he came back!! AGAIN we took him down to the barn. This time I put him in the kitchen so the workers could use their comman sence and not let him out AGAIN. The next day, gone. THE WORKERS AGAIN!! I was VERY MAD that day because the workers were so DUMB!!! I was at my riding lesson when he was gone again but my mom said that she saw him 20 MINUETS EARLIER! I did not see him that day or the next but then, he came back. This time I don't know what I should do with him. Barn? Give him away? The shelter? I unfortunately can't keep him because my 1 year old puffy cat (Mitten the Puffy Kitten) HATES HIM!! And he is very scarred about dogs, and we have a good sized lab. We also already have 3 other outdoor cats.

What to do, What to do??

Give him to someone who will keep him as an inside cat.

He will hate it. He loves the outdoors.

Well, then you can't do anything. Unless you keep him inside there is no way your are able to keep him in one place. He was feral before you found him and he was fine. Obviously he can care for himself. Just let him go but keep food and water out for him.

Get him neutered and give him about a week around Mitten to get used to each other. They need time to adjust. Before you know it, they would be best friends. Mitten won't accept him unless he's neutered though. Good Luck!!!
