What can you do with your dog while he is on bed rest?

Ok well my 4 y.o beagle/doxen could possibly have a slipped disc in his back. That's what they think it is but we know it is something wrong with his back. He is on medication and he gets this laser thing. It is to stimulate cells in his back. They don't know yet if it works yet but it can't do any harm and we r getting it for free.
Anyway he can't do really anything. The most he can do is go to the bathroom and take a short walk around the houses. I Am just wondering what are some activities he can do that doesn't involve much physical work.?.?
He is so bored during the day and he can't do anything... Please help... Thanks :)
