Smile This is what I do in my "spare time"

Hey everyone. As some of you know, I run my own small animal rescue. I specialize in the care of bunnies, guinea pigs, rats, chinchillas, etc etc. We get the animals in, get them vet care if and when needed, feed them top quality pellets, hay, and fruits and veggies, and we put them up for adoption. My website is www.tinytreasuresrescue.webs.com. You can also look us up on facebook, under Tiny Treasures Rabbit & Guinea Pig Rescue. We were originally established in June of 2005, but closed in December of 2006. We reopened in February of 2010. My former assistant was kicked out for animal cruelty in September of 2006, and 2 months later set our house(and shelter) on fire. We fought for 3 years to come home(and we won), and moved back home in November of 2009. We had custom cages built in the basement(which is a licensed shelter and state inspected, but not state funded), and we work closely with the SPCA in our area. I wanted to share my love for animals with all of you. If anyone may be interested in sponsoring a bunny(we currently have 23 available for adoption), making a financial donation, or(if you live close enough), donating old towels, blankets, ceramic dishes, carriers, litterboxes, etc etc, they will all be put to good use. We are also looking for and accepting donations to help us file for our 501c3 status, which will allow us to apply for and receive local, state, and federal grants to continue helping animals. There are a few HF members that live in my area and have given the rescue and myself a hard time lately, so if you are one of them or have something critical to say, please refrain. I'm just trying to do a good thing, and constructive criticism and opinions are always welcome! We are also looking for a few good volunteers come fall, if any of you may be attending Penn State University!

Just got a call from the local SPCA, and I am on my way to pick up 2 more bunnies that were dumped. This brings our total number of adoptables to 25 bunnies, 5 chickens, 3 guinea pigs(2 females will be having babies soon), 2 rats, 2 chinchillas, and 1 duck.

Thats great that you help the little ones that are easily forgotten in the midst of dogs and cats! Your website is very nice. I hope you can find good homes for all the animals in your care soon :)

I like that random one duck.
Good luck with it all! I wish I lived close, I'd give a home to some rabbits.

The duck(Quackers) was definitely random, lol. Especially when he came home.......THAT was interesting. The chinchillas, chickens, and 4 bunnies have been adopted this past week! Things are going wonderfully.

Yay! Hopefully they don't end up back where they started.

I do extensive background checks, home visits, vet and personal references before anyone is allowed to adopt from me =) I just returned from taking 6 more bunnies to their new homes, and couldn't be happier! The chickens are still here, as the prospective home didn't pass inspection, but they are very friendly and will find a place soon.

You do background checks for someone wanting to adopt a bunny? Is that even legal?
