whats up with my rabbit?

My rabbit zipper has stared acting funny, he's been pooping alot on the floor (he normally only poops in his cage) and he's started to try to mate with my dog and he's been running at my feet and folowing me very closely. He's about 8 years old and he's never acted like this befor, does anyone know why he's doing this or have had their rabbits do this? Our budgie just passed away about a month ago and they were buddy's would that have something to do with it?

Really no suggestions? Someone told e he might be going senile (sp?)

Bunnies only live around 8 years, so it could be that his time is coming. But you never really know with rabbits.

Ya I think its just his old age, I just wanted to make sure there wasnt anything seriously wrong with him, thanks!

Sorry this is long after you posted, I was just stalking around (new to HorseForum).
I would try putting an old towel in front of his cage... don't know why but my rabbit tends to poop on the towel now as opposed to the rest of his room (granted you shake it out every other day or so)
