I'll admit it--I'm a dog person.
My horses are my buds, what cats don't disappear are my fuzzy friends, but my dogs are my PACK!!"Rose" and "Pyg" even sleep in my bedroom. When I come home from work or especially from a vacation, Pyg moans in pain and frequently wets herself. They get kisses and cuddles, and Pyg remembers when "She was a wee piglet and I saved her." (I found her at a horse auction when it was 5 below zero and NOBODY had taken any of her litter.) I drove in a thunderstorm to get Rose. We tried to crate her on the drive home but she ended up on my DD's lap. First time we showed her the north pasture her BC roots kicked in and she ran the whole thing...as an 8 week old puppy!
Btw, my chickens are my livestock. We only name the roosters and every one of them ends up on the dinner table at some point. =b
