Congrats!! I've never been pregnant, but I do know that my Mom rode up to just a couple of weeks before delivery on both my brother and me. Of course, though, she's not really a horsey type so she stuck with our old trusty nags...but she was working in the barn (feeding, mucking stalls, scrubbing buckets) throughout both pregnancies as well.

She believes that the reason both of her births went as well as they did is because she stayed fit and active while pregnant.

Congrats. Hope your pregancy has been going well for you
Saw a recent post and had to check in to see if the OP had posted.
Was re-reading through other posts and had to grin with a good rememberance from 4 years ago - I was 5 weeks along when morning sickness hit. At a horse show, showing a sales horse (who was a handful and a half)...the first wave hit me while watching the last round of the previous division. Was already warmed-up, and still mounted.... told my student who was standing my mare's shoulder she might want to move - as I puked off the saddle. I was washing my mouth out with a swig of water when the guy I usually rode against rode back to ask if I was ready to go in or if I wanted him to go first. My girl started cracked up laughing - I spit the water out and told him he was welcome to the round I would gladly go after him.
As I came out of the ring after my go - another trainer, 3 riders and the ring steward all looked at me as asked if I was ok (as I was TRYING To get out of the ring to puke again) - I puked & then after I rinsed my mouth smiled and said "sure I'm great - morning sickness just sucks when it hits on a riding day". Man watching heads spin was funny. Because at that point outside of my husband, teenage students and immediate family - nobody knew. But hey - I won two of my 4 classes that day, didnt get dump, had no refusals, but withdrew from my flat class because I knew when to call it quit.
Yeah good times.... if the whole thing had been fun like that I might have wanted to have another child (or not....)

Lol, MGTS. That reminds me of the last show I went to pregnant. I was about 5 months along and had on my tall boots most of the day. Well, of course, that afternoon my legs decided to suddenly swell and my toes started tingling from lack of blood flow. And I couldn't get them off. It took nearly a half dozen people pulling on various parts of me and the boots to get them off my feet. We were minutes away from cutting them off when they finally gave. As a matter of fact, that was the very last time I wore those boots. Showing after that was in an instructing capacity, or at a casual show so I could ride in paddock boots and half chaps. I have to say I haven't missed them any since our last parting...

Hey everyone! Sorry I was MIA... I have been mostly in bed with horrible morning sickness and focusing on a phone or computer screen made it worse. I was also depressed because I couldn't get out of bed. Missed my horse too and this site just made it worse. But I'm glad to report I'm almost 17 weeks and feeling much better! I wasn't riding for awhile but I do "putt" around the yard on my good days. I went on a trail ride yesterday too. My mare has been under training and ridden regularly by a few different people so she's been excellent and I feel 100% safe on her. I know her well enough to predict her reactions before they actually happened. Since my fall off her I am a lot more aware and have quicker response time lol we also perfected a ORS.

    Here's some pictures :)

    Yesterday on the trail :)

The boys walked, us girls rode :) we have a creek at the back of the property. This is one of my favorite pics :)

This was yesterday with my niece. I love how much better my mare is looking :) if you remember her from before you'll see the difference right away.

    ROFL.

It wasnt my idea this time.....or last time. We tried for a couple months, but then I shut him down, because its bad bad bad timing. Then I suggested the swimmers might not be swimming.....

    *SIGH*

I will be honest: I HATE being pregnant! Best thing about it is when its over....

    Ohhh geeze!

I was never really a kid person... But having one has totally made life 100 times better. My little dude is now 7 months old. Time flies!

Now I love it... But my husband is totally a baby hog and he does a lot of stuff many dads don't. From feeding to getting up in the middle of the night to poopy diapers my husband does it all with a smile. Lol so I feel pretty lucky.

Btw my husband really wanted kids, I was not really that fond of the idea and being 7 years apart sometimes the things we want are not the same. So I kinda did it for him... But now I'm glad I did!

    Funny story,

My husband was 30 and I was 23 when we started trying.... It took 7 months. I thought "Man this is awesome! I'm never having kids and it's not my fault!" My husband on the other and was freaking out and getting ready to call the doctor haha.
