My sister started when she was about 6 or 7. She had her own horse and took as much care of it as she could do on her own. Now she has no interest in them. I started when I was 5 or 6. I had my own pony. We sold him and moved to Montana, now I have golley and I am almost 15 years old honestly - I am dying to train a new horse. I want to get ready for when so I can bring him to college and not have many problems.
I think that 6 to 8 years old is a good place to start. Golley has been my horse for 6 years now. We are ding really good.
