Well, I finally got the dreaded list last night. I'm pretty sure that M thinks we grow money on trees. Ugh. She didn't pick out anything on the budget friendly side of things. I am currently shopping for a blankety blank blank blank american girl doll, it has to look like her, have a horse & the gear...she's going to be waiting for her birthday for the horse & tack - I could buy her a real pony for the same price She also asked for regulation sized soccer goals (her words were "the metal kind like at the field") and also wants us to have a mural painted on her bedroom wall, that one might be a possibility as I have a friend that is super talented when it comes to that kind of stuff.

Here's what she wants on her bedroom wall. It's the cover of one of her favorite books "Ponyella" - hoping my artistic friend will barter riding lessons for her kiddo for painting ;)

Ouch! Doesn't DH weld? LOL! I wish dd was into dolls, she likes Legos and techie stuff. $100 for a Lego doll house, that I had to help build! That cover is soooo cute! Must post photos when/if (lol) done.
I am supposed to paint unicorns and butterflies on E's walls... Haven't got to that yet! Still need to strip and paint 47 cabinet doors and drawers in my kitchen... Hmmm maybe a sandblaster needs to go on MY LIST!

He does but doesn't have the time sadly. He's been working crazy overtime lately. The cover is cute, the book is even cuter. It's pretty much pony Cinderella. The grey mare on right on the cover is "The Fairy Godmare" The apple turns into a trailer, mouse into the driver and she wins the pony championships but has to get back to the farm on time, throws a shoe, gets found and eats carrot muffins with the princess and jumps all day for fun. The end.

The cabinet door thing sounds like a big job. Sandblaster sounds good! I have done some of our woodwork, such a pain but well worth the effort.

Wow. Some of you give some pretty lavish Christmas gifts. We do stuff like a video game, some earbuds, a few books and maybe some clothing.
A horse? An ATV? Wow! That's way more than I would even dream to get or give for Christmas.

Ha HA! Wellll, she needed a pony when she was 5, then it didn't turn out. So gave it away, but then she needed a replacement... LOL!!
We didn't start buying her presents until then. I used to draw pictures of santa and reindeer tied to a little filled stocking on her bed telling her he was going to drop her stuff off at Mimi's. We used to go down to the river and pick up "magical" acorns that would give them an extra power boost to get up there! Mimi & Pops were Santa, we couldn't afford anything but gas to get up there!

What do you guys think about a really nice rabbit hutch/tractor from Atwoods or wherever? She wants a rabbit and we will shop for one later so she can show it for 4-H.

Lockwood and MHF, I'm SO not showing her that catalog! LOL!!

That's a good plan. The upside to circling everything in the big book is that she learns to deal with disappointment when she doesn't get all the crap she thinks she needs!

M has now moved on to Rod's & State Line Tack catalogs and I'm good with that plan..."Honey, look at what M wants for Christmas. Idk, maybe she wants those chaps for when she grows up? And that headstall you say? Idk, maybe it's for the horse you haven't bought her yet."

I "adopted" three teens, fom the local low income charity.
They are all in school which I am happy about.
They give some gift ideas to get, YEA!
But does antone know if Skull candy ear phones are two things and they just forgot to put a comma in between or they are one item and what the heck either one is.
What is Hotel Tranulania?
What is a swirling curling iron. Of couse I have about 3 curling irons the teen could have but I don't think any of them swirl.

The best time to plant a tree was 20 years ago, the second best time is today.

Hotel Transylvania is an animated movie.
Skull candy wha?? Have no idea.
Unfortunately I already have curly hair and stay far away from anything that that heats up and is labeled for hair.

Rabbit goodies sound like a great idea. Help her get ready and excited about 4-H.

Yes, about the catalog. Munchkin has learned if he asks me for something before I'm too far into my first cup of coffee in the morning, I'll mindlessly say yes or hand over whatever it is.
Wasn't until I saw him concentrating sooo hard and scrawling all over it that I realized what I had done.

Yes, that's what I try to convince myself of too.
It does help give me ideas though and when what he wanted doesn't show up, I just blame Santa. It works too and he doesn't equate not enough goodies with being a "bad little boy." At least not yet.

Nice thing about the book is that I stash it away for later. Whenever I go to the store without him and I have time, I hit the clearance isle and snag whatever he's interested in that is a good deal.
I hide it all in a box marked "sheets and pillow cases" and by the time the summer birthday rolls around I have a good stash of stuff.
Soon as the birthday is over, I start collecting for Christmas.
Makes a summer birthday kinda nice that way.

ETA: Fly I'm jealous that you have 47 kitchen-y things that needs painting!
I wish I had that many cupboards and drawers!!!
Doesn't matter I would have to set them up outside somewhere as they would take up my entire house... I just want them anyway!
