also, sex helps bring on contractions and dialation of the cervix.

I was induced with two of my three kids.

First one I was induced two weeks early. Before ya'll freak there was a reason for that! I had leaned forward to far in a rolling chair, had it shoot backwards and landed hard on my stomach on a cement floor. Went in and my doc wanted me to have an US to make sure everything was fine. Well... They US showed my oldest son had an abnormally large head and they were seriously concerned that if I went to term he wouldn't fit and I would end up with a c-section. Went in the night before and they inserted some stuff to soften and open my cervix (that was like 6p) around 9p I started having contractions. Regular even timed contractions with nothing else being given. keeps going into the morning. They finally ended up putting me on pitocin at about 10 a.m. Now keep in mind I had been having contractions for more than 12 hours and it was ALL in my back and I had been crying for most of the time due to just how bad it hurt (also have scholiosis, so doubt that helped ). My water ended up breaking at like 11a or so, contractions got harder. I don't remember much from that point until I had my epidermal but apparently I was screaming enough to scare the other women in the maternity ward.

Long story short, I was still threatened with a c-section and then an hour and a half after that threat my son was born. His head was 15.5 inches in circumference and would NOT have fit if I went full-term and barely fit as it was.

Second son, all I had was an epidural again due to such severe back pain contractions.

Third son... I was induced with him due to living so far out in the country with two little boys, bad, bad weather happening and being alone for more and 18 hours a day. We felt it was better to control when I went into labor rather then take the chance of me going into labor and not being able to have anyone take care of my kids or be able to get to the hospital. All they did to induce me that time was break my water as I was dilated already. Worst part about this one... I was still alone at the hospital as my husband was in Iraq.

Wow that was a novel lol. Induction is scary, but I feel if the circumstances warrant it... *shrugs* But this falls into what is personally acceptable on a person to person basis.

Sooo... After you pop you are sharing baby pics with us? Right? RIGHT?

My doc wanted to induce as soon as my due date hit. I was working a week before, so he put me on bed rest. I walked up and down a flight of stairs, rearranged the furniture, and ate Chinese food in the day that followed. My water broke at home at midnight when I realized why my back hurt more than usual.

Went to the hospital, screamed for an epidural, got one, napped for two hours, woke up, and had an 8 pound, 15 ounce girl. Total time was about 6 hours, couting the time I slept. Finally, big hips came in handy. ;)

Well since we're all sharing baby stories, lol.

#1 WAS A NIGHTMARE!!! I had morning sickness 95% of the time (Princess Kate anyone, lol. Except I didn't get press coverage). In & out of the hospital for dehydration, malnurishment, etc. At the end, she decided that behind my ribcage made a good pillow. If you go straight over from where your ribs split, that's where her head was for the last 3 weeks!! Doc did a version (where they try and turn the baby FROM THE OUTSIDE. No go, so I had to have a c-section. Turns out she was somehow folded so that if I had her naturally, she most likely would've ruptured / torn an artery in her leg.

#2 went easier, barely sick, but I made a whale look anorexic. He had a heart murmer, so I went in for US quite often. 2 weeks before my due date, they did measurements and figured he was around 10-12lbs. And there was NO WAY he was fitting out (before him I had a 29" waist). Another US a week later & he was measured at 12-14 AND he looked it! So the only day we could schedule a c-section was Dec 22 or Dec 24. I picked the 22nd. We went in on the 22nd to find out I was in active labor & 8cm dialated. NEVER KNEW!! But I still had to go thru the c-sect since he was so big....

LITTLE BRAT CAME OUT 7lbs 3oz. I didn't need to have a c-sect after all

GOOD LORD! How can they be that off on baby size? The sonogram I had on tuesday guessed baby at 8.6 lbs, but the tech said he didn't look that big to her, she guessed 7 and a half. My doc said she had never seen one underesimate weight..so the 8.6 is most likely wrong.. we will see though!

I was having some pretty nice stabby pains from about 630pm to 10 pm last night (I did muck stalls last night)...I was getting a little excited thinking MAYBE it was the start to something... they stopped.. so still no baby. I have an appointment today so maybe at least those pains got me somewhere as far as dialation goes??

Oh girl hope he comes soon!
FYI the sex thing didn't work for me! LOL! I laughingly refer to that as a old wives tale actually started by young men...

So how are you doing today? Have you had a recent ultrasound? Any contractions? Got my fingers crossed that all goes well and JUST how you want it!!

I went 11 days "overdue", did the mall walking, squats, the "you know", and nothin... Went in for a checkup and they did an US, "OH MY!!!" the nurses all crowded around me and said that my belly was the largest they had seen... EVER! Wha... I only had one in there right? Estimated that baby would weigh 8 1/2 and be too big for me.

So they say CS, I was devastated. Got me all hooked up and the nurses freak out again! My contractions were off the chart... I didn't feel a thing. Guess my nerves were pinched or it was just my amazing tolerance to pain. Tried to give me drugs, insisted, but I didn't need them. Cathiter inserted and then my water broke, I freaked out and started screaming that they had done it wrong.

Delivered an 11lb+ 24 inch long baby girl CS with her eyes open. First time the 40 year practicing DR had ever operated with the baby looking at her. Yeah, I had a 3 month old in there.

Hope all goes well and soon!!!

HAHA.. oi vey.. 11lbs 0.o..you poor woman! My husband was joking with me a couple weeks ago that he thought it would be hilarious if we had a 10 pounder (he was 9.4).. I just looked at him and said, "not near as hilarious as that vasectomy you will be scheduling"..shut him right up!!

I just got a call, my pre registration expired because little dude is taking his time, so I have to go in early for that, and they want me to do another non stress test today... I am kinda thinking I might ask if she will just induce wensday..I would hate to wait all the way till next friday to JUST HAVE TO INDUCE ANYWAY...

plus an aquantance just delivered her son, and has posted pics on FB- I admit I am totally jealous of her...I wanna hold my kid dangit!! :(
