I was induced with two of my three kids.
First one I was induced two weeks early. Before ya'll freak there was a reason for that!
I had leaned forward to far in a rolling chair, had it shoot backwards and landed hard on my stomach on a cement floor. Went in and my doc wanted me to have an US to make sure everything was fine. Well... They US showed my oldest son had an abnormally large head and they were seriously concerned that if I went to term he wouldn't fit and I would end up with a c-section. Went in the night before and they inserted some stuff to soften and open my cervix (that was like 6p) around 9p I started having contractions. Regular even timed contractions with nothing else being given. Keeps going into the morning. They finally ended up putting me on pitocin at about 10 a.m. Now keep in mind I had been having contractions for more than 12 hours and it was ALL in my back and I had been crying for most of the time due to just how bad it hurt (also have scholiosis, so doubt that helped
). My water ended up breaking at like 11a or so, contractions got harder. I don't remember much from that point until I had my epidermal but apparently I was screaming enough to scare the other women in the maternity ward.
Long story short, I was still threatened with a c-section and then an hour and a half after that threat my son was born. His head was 15.5 inches in circumference and would NOT have fit if I went full-term and barely fit as it was.
Second son, all I had was an epidural again due to such severe back pain contractions.
Third son... I was induced with him due to living so far out in the country with two little boys, bad, bad weather happening and being alone for more and 18 hours a day. We felt it was better to control when I went into labor rather then take the chance of me going into labor and not being able to have anyone take care of my kids or be able to get to the hospital. All they did to induce me that time was break my water as I was dilated already. Worst part about this one... I was still alone at the hospital as my husband was in Iraq.
Wow that was a novel lol. Induction is scary, but I feel if the circumstances warrant it... *shrugs* But this falls into what is personally acceptable on a person to person basis.
Sooo... After you pop you are sharing baby pics with us? Right? RIGHT?
