HaHA NO. I was all gung ho about trying to go unmedicated..cha right. Since my water broke they wanted to augment my labor with pitocin- OMG. I go from very minimal pain to moderate contractions like every minute within an hour.. had no time to get my bearings together.. Had a mini freakout, which I got over- But then promptly asked for an epidural.
I do not know how women do it without pain meds, Kudos to those of you who have done it (I ADMIRE YOU)- I could not! And I can't even imagine going through the pushing phase without one (that was hard even with the epi)
Once I got the epidural at a three all was well and I progressed from a 3 to a 10 in about 3 hours.. Pushed foranhour and 45 minutes which was EXHAUSTING! ( my husband said that I mentioned how much I disliked the kid at one point LOL) But it was well worth it.. All in all while it wasn't what I expected in the pain dept. It wasn't horrible.. The epidural wasn't near as bad as I expected (sitting crunched over through contractions was the crummy part). The 13 hours I was in labor really flew by which I DID NOT expect..
I am just happy Jack is hear and I can hold and cuddle him.. Love that kid so MUCH! Thanks everyone for the warm thoughts and congradulations:)
