Well as most a lot you know I have been going back and forth about what to do with Amber for quite some time now, because I'm very nervous with her, and we just don't seem to be clicking. I spent 5 days down in Kentucky with my friend Heather recently, and rode her horses down there, and had soooooooo much fun! I had forgotten what it was like to ride a horse and not be scared, it's been along time since I just rode for fun, and didn't have a panic attack, lol. And that REALLY opened my eyes, I realized just how bad things really are with Amber.
While I was in Kentucky I fell in love with Heathers aunts mare, Bahloo. She's a 6 year old Shire cross, and even though she is quite green, I had no issues cantering her through an open field, something I would never do with Amber. After a lot of thinking, and long talks with my mom and my new trainer, I've decided that it really is beyond time to sell Amber... So once she moves to the new farm next week, Stefanie (new trainer) is going to evaluate her and help me sell her (she has a lot of experience with buying and selling, they get in a couple young horses every year that they train up and re-sell, so she has a lot of connections).
Heathers aunt has agreed to sell me Bahloo, she never does anything with her and wants to do whats best for the horse. I'm sending her a down payment, and Bahloo will continue to live with Heather until I sell Amber, once Ambers sold I will finish paying Bahloo off and have her shipped up to NY! I really feel good about all of this!! I finally fell like I'm doing the right thing for everyone involved!!
Oh and I decided that Bahloo's show name will be Bear Necessities hehe
