Have Questions about a Couple Pair of Boots??
Today was quite the exciting day. I went to this garage sale and the lady was selling some horse tack and other stuff. Well, she had two pairs of cowboy boots for sale for $8 each. They are in excellent/ like new shape! I figured out the brand on the one and it is an eel skin j. chisholm. The other one I believe to be from the brand Topy? Does that sound right?
Anyway does anyone have knowledge of these brands? Plus, has anyone ever had eel-skin boots?! Didn't even know they made these haha.

No one? I just wish I knew something about these brands. :)

J. Chisholm is an older brand of boot. Exotics skins of this brand, new, retail for anywhere between $300-$550. Not sure what a used pair might go for.
Never heard of Topy as a brand. A topy in a boot shop would be a thin layer of rubber glued to the bottom of your leather sole to make your soles last longer.
Hope this helps!

Thanks! I was looking at the sole haha it might have been that. Thought it was the brand. Oops.

If the boots have leather soles, a quality boot is hand pegged in the instep. Thanks for the description of topy. I used to staple a rubber half sole to my boots in the winter so they weren't slippery.
