Billy Royal saddles?
So, my gelding has outgrown my very much loved Circle Y show saddle. *sigh*.
It's sad, but I've really gotten a ton of use out of it, with it being my only western saddle, and carrying me through practice and shows.
I thoroughly checked it again last night, and it seemed to have fairly steady pressure all around, but slightly tighter by the shoulders. With the girth tightened, it got very pinchy by the shoulder and everytime I ride, he has quite obvious dry spots.
He's one that muscles up very quickly. He's not in a heavy workout routine right now, but it's short, very often schooling sessions.
Too the point, my Circle Y is Semi-QH bars. I'm going up to FQHB. I think it'll be a better fit on his broad back.
I'm looking right now first off for a nice schooling saddle, that I can get wet and dirty and not worry about.
Then, sometime next year, depending on what my check from the goat shows bring in, I'm after a new show saddle.
I have always been a Billy Cook and Circle Y only person. But Billy Royal's seem to be very popular...
Are they of good, lasting quality leather? Other opinions?
These are the ones I'm looking at;
For schooling:Billy Royal® Rowel Reiner Saddle in Reining at Schneider Saddlery
For show depending on price range at the time:
Billy Royal® Star Of Texas Saddle in Show at Schneider Saddlery
Billy Royal Reata Show Saddle in Show at Schneider Saddlery
Any other tack suggestions besides the three brands mentioned above?
