I'm currently drawing my first attempt at a dog and I think it looks alright. Picture quality's not too good as it was taken on my ipod
I need to fix up the right eye and make the top lip a little bigger, but my main problem is that I have no idea how to make the fur look decent. I don't want to try doing the fur and ruining it so I think I'll scan it so I have a copy. Here's the reference picture;
Any advice would be greatly appreciated! :)
Oh, ya i hate hair! lol
It takes soo much patience and i have so little.
It's looking really good so far ;) my advice with hair is to just take your time. Remember that it overlaps, so i would start from the left and work my way to the head. Even go ahead and smudge a light layer on first before adding more detailed layers.
Make sure that the angle of the eyes (if you ran a horizontal line right through the middles of both of them) and the angle of the nostril holes are exactly parallel, OR with perspective's use of diminishing line, they would appear parallele, but actually converge onto each other at the horizon line.
In your picture the eyes seems a bit off. The dogs left eye should be a tiny bit lower to make it in the same line/angle as that of the nostrils.
The mouth and teeth is exceptionally well done!
