Sorry if I am posting this in the wrong forum it didn't seem to fit anywhere. The lady at my local tack store tells me that muck boots are great for working around and riding horses in the winter. I have never heard of them before. I live in Canada where we have brutal winters, are these boots really warm enough for our -40 C weather? What would you folks recommend?

Muck boots get 2 thumbs up from me, I live in mine all winter and they are great. I only got cold feet on the rare day I forgot to put on my thick socks before going out, that's all through the Saskatchewan winter.
I'm very tempted to buy some Brit Colts to ride in during the winter.

Muck boots do a nice job keeping your feet warm, in fact mine sweat :( However, I find that I have to keep buying the boots because I always get holes from urine eating away at them

I love my muck boots. I got the ones with pink trim this year. The black ones for my dad, the chore boots for my mom, and the camo for the hubby. Mine usually last about 3 years. Very warm. I dont ride in mine because I am afraid of them getting stuck in the stirrups, I have the work boots not the riding boots.

Love them! However, my steel toe muck boots only lasted a year and a half before I got cracks and splits in the top of the toe area. The regular ones lasted twice that before having issues.

i have the Hunter Wellington boots and the Wellie Liners which keep me toasty warm doing chores all winter. i've never ridden in them though.

Thanks for all the responses it sounds like Muck boots are the way to go. I probably wouldn't ride in them but they appear to be good for everything else

ummmmmm where would you buy muck boots on line? I am pretty sure an on line site would be cheaper than my local tack store
