blue eyed horse?
 

so i have a 4 year old paint with pink skin, hes a black and white overn, with a apron face. he tears up a lot, and it is clear and his eyes itch sometimes and gets custys on them.... anything to help them? get them less teary, itchy??

I had a horse like this, with 2 blue eyes--his name was "Toma." If he has eye problems that are not related to the color of his eyes. Mine lived until he was 35 yo, without any eye/vision problems, but many people would ask me if he was blind, lol! Have your Vet check it out, if it isn't just the weather and high winds causing this.

It is very common for blue eyed horses (who do not have any natural eye liner-and I don't mean make-up, I am referring to black pigment around the eyes) to tear up. Most of the time that is from the bright sun and a fly mask can make your horse more comfortable.

Does it happen in winter too?

It can. A fly mask year-round would probably be your best bet, and you might even consider having his eyes tattooed. Watch out for signs of squamous cell carcinoma.
