What colour are these two?
http://a1.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphot...01734640_n.jpgOk so here goes and yes I know they are both over weight but we are about to go into apparently a very bad winter and they both live out 24/7 so will lose weight then
This is Gayle 3 year old filly, I think she is bay skewbald and that is what she is registered as but reading all the post the general consensus is that they had to have black legs, nose, mane and tail so what do you think?
This is molly 5 year old appy x (we think) what colour do you think she is and what is she crossed with?
She was in foal in the following
Bottom one is going grey I think. Probably bay before that. She is appy spotted with splash and tobiano. The other looks more liver chestnut to me, would have to see other pics. She is tobiano and possibility of splash
I'm on my phone, so can only see super tiny pics at the moment
The first is a skewbald but also just a bay or possibly silver bay tobiano. Hard to tell if she's chestnut with all that fuzz!
Skewbald isn't actually a specific color, but a word used to describe a horse with white body markings (tobiano, overo, tovero) that is any color but black.
Piebald is any black horse with white body pattern markings.
The second looks like a bay roan pinto of sorts
Not going to guess on the ponies as bad lighting, sunfading and wet skew colors.
The last mare is tobiano and varnish roan on a brown base coat.
Need better pictures of the pony. The best picture of her for lighting is the one of her head over the fence, but it's a bad angle for her body. She does appear to be quite downhill from the other pictures though.
she is only three so has a bit of growing to do
Here are some more pics of her as a yearling we only just got her here. sorry they aren't very good
sorry they are so big just zoom out and they are fine lol sorry again
I'd say brown tobiano for the first one.
And blue or bay roan tovero for the second one, OR the roan could be caused by one of the app genes, but I know next to nothing about apps.
The pony looks like a liver chestnut tobiano from the new pictures.
Haviris, the "roaning" is caused by varnish, not the classic roan gene. Also definitely a brown base.
