These products work great! I have the nose guard for my paint, and it has completely transformed his burnt nose!!! Expensive, but worth it.
ultraviolet proof sun protection, horse muzzle, horse nose, nag nose shade, horse sun visor
Most fly masks w/ a nose attachment have some UV protection, and they really help.

I also mix sunscreen (baby is my favorite) and aloe vera in a bottle, and apply daily before turn out. Helps alittle, but it does need to be re-applied in order to work all day.

I've been told to use baby sunscreen on horses (my mare burns her nose really bad,) and seeing as your horse has light pigmented skin around his eyes it might be beneficial to leave a fly mask on year-round. I'm not sure if they make them, but perhaps one that has UV protection. But with sunscreen you would have to apply it every day, maybe even several times. You might even want to see if there are fly masks that go down far on their nose.
