First Time Riding
 

Hey Everyone,
Im a horse lover like all of you but ima little different than most of you. I have never ridden a horse :oops::cry:. I LOVE horse but im sort of afraid. We own racehorses but im scared to ride them because they arent the tamest horses ever. Our mare is prego and she gets mad if you rub her. So i asked my dad if he had ever thought of just buying a horse to ride. He said yea. But the problem is im young and i dont have a job to pay for a riding horse and we live in the city. Any tips on riding and what i should do?:D

Take some lessons! Its the best/cheapest way to learn!

You are wise to stay off those race horses - they are not for inexperienced riders. I agree with looking around for lessons and riding a bit before deciding if you want to invest in a horse of your own.

take lessons with a certified coach at a barn that has a name (at least one well known rider), and DO NOT buy a horse until your coach says so (probably take a while), and it has been check by a vet and farrier in front of you (two week trail is great idea)

Thanks everyone for the advice but i live in the city and there really isnt any horse people around. Also im pretty sure my dad or mom will want to pay for lessons. :/
