ok i have a 4 year old appy just learning to lope. hes finally understanding what im asking him to do . but when i ask for his face he stops or fights. at a jog he has a awsome head set. i dont know if it his teeth or is he just being a stinker. has anyone had this issue. and if so any ideas for me

As he's just learning to lope that's all I would ask of him at this point. Let him learn the cue & balance before asking for refinement.

I agree with Natisha...give him a fairly loose rein at a lope while he learns to balance. When he is more steady and consistent because he is balanced better you will find his head will come down quite a lot.
Transitions, figure 8's, roll backs all tell your horse to use their hind end. When he does his head will follow and become more level. Give him time.
