Hey guys, maybe you can help me here. I noticed that Willy's poops this morning were much looser than usual. He usually poops in small nuggets, and this morning it was more of a longer, fibrous poop- not runny or watery. His stall had about 4 poops in it, all of which were in a mound, and seemed loose. I've been slowly changing his feed over the last two weeks, and he's been fine- energy's great, attitude is great. I checked for gut noises regularly and they are there- phew. Any idea why his stool would have been normal yesterday, but looser today? Thanks.
Sorry to double post, but I think I read somewhere that looser stool can occur when a horse is adjusting to more fat in his/her diet?
Most likely it's the new diet, and as long as he's not becoming dehydrated or acting stressed/colicky, then I wouldn't really worry. Just keep an eye on it.
Okay, thanks...yeah, he's acting just like he always does...
