Jewel at 3 1/2 years

Jewel, my TB/hanoverian filly is now 3 1/2 and growing like a weed still.... she's about 16.2 and butt-high again..... feeding her lots of goodies to keep her looking decent. She's come a long way in her coordination lately and has such extension in her trot and naturally collects herself in the canter :) We're going to start driving her but she's really not ready to be ridden yet.

You're not allowed to talk about your hanno x without including details of her hano lines!!! Hit me with them, love seeing what different lines are producing :)

Kayty-She's by Devon Heir in Fresno, CA and out of a Jockey Club mare. My friend bred her to be a sport horse for her teenage daughters who have since gotten out of horses...... She didn't know what to do with her so she offered her to me! She is quite the handful but also very loving and inquisitive. She really wants to be handled and worked with, loves to be ponied out on trail. Luckily my Cody is about 17.3 so he's big enough to pony the big girl :) Never had a warmblood before so not sure what to expect other than that I've heard they take a while to mature so we're going slow with her. Hope her chest widens some to catch up with her hind end which recently widened. My last baby was Cody who is about 1/2+ draft so her legs seem so slim!

Well she is certainly a lovely mare, and will be pretty **** big! You should be safe with that chest widening too, warmbloods do mature slowly and often you'll find that they won't really broaden out until they are 6 or 7 even.

Gorgeous mare! I agree with the fact that she will mature slowly and will eventually broaden out. Jealous.....

Good to know, amp23 :) Her sire is 17.2 so she probably still has some height to come but I want her wider! She can sure jump!

AlexS 11-11-2011 04:50 PM

She is stunning!

amp23 11-11-2011 07:54 PM

Yeah she looks almost like a petite version of a Hannovarian/TB that I work with, he's 17h and a little bit stockier from being in good shape so I'm sure with time she will get bigger. She's still young and has a ways to go :)
