What breed do you think he is?

Hey all! So I got walter at auction and have no clue what breed he might be, so I'd love some input! I think he might be gaited but I have never owned or ridden a gaited horse so I'm not all that sure, I will post a video by Friday for you guys to see. He is 16H, 8 years old, he also has a few belly spots. Also as you can see in the pics he is branded so I was also wondering if anyone know if there is a way to find out who's brand it is?

well he is definitely a quarter horse lol. look at that butt!! and he is not gaited from what i see. in the first pic i am guessing hes trotting and his legs are moving diagonally not laterally.

Hes not gaiting in any of the pictures, he has only done it while im riding him.

Doesn't look like any gaited horse I know, and his movements are all wrong for that. I'm thinking a Qh because he's built with that stock type. His face and long back puts me off a little bit, but I can't say anything for sure; there are SO many QH types. Maybe he has a touch of TB in him?

This is the gait I think he does when I'm riding him, it's super fast and smooth, my friend rides with me but she doesn't know anything about gaitied horses so I won't know for sure until I get video of him doing.

He looks like a nicely put-together Paint. The second picture shows that he is not gaited; he's trotting in the picture.

Or maybe he just has a really nice smooth fast trot and that's all it is. :-) Either way he's fun to ride, and he does also do a normal trot.

he definitely looks pure qh. i know a lot of qhs with long backs. hes probably not gaited, just smooth :). his head looks qh too. i think the blaze makes it look almost roman but its an illusion. my parents have a lot of qhs and they are all different looking. one's tall and lanky and anothers short and stocky. depends on their breeding. plus i see that brand and it makes me think qh because that is what ranches normally have.

I know seriously, Qh's has such a wide range of looks it's almost mind boggling

see on that video you can see his legs moving laterally. thats gaited. on a nongaited horse, the legs move diagonally like in your first pic. thats a lot of the difference. :). i think you have a grade qh. or solid paint.
