Sun Burn on horses?!

My horse is sunburnt on her muzzle. She wears a cover but has lost it in her paddock! I am looking for it but meanwhile she is getting really sun burnt. She is red and peeling on her muzzle. Is there anything I can do or buy whilst i am looking for her cover?

Please help!
P.S. i am really worried about her.

Put sunscreen on her. During the summer a couple of our burn easy so we just smear sunscreen in their nose. Fly mask do help but as you found out, they can come off

Diaper rash cream works good.

Put sunscreen on her nose everyday, at least SPF 30 or higher, since it is already burned I used Aloe on my gelding nose and just kept him out of the sun until it healed for a bit, then just sunscreen every day.

Sunscreen is what i do. Some people put just plain Zinc Oxide on to.

Yep, we have a paint w/ a bald face and he gets burned on his muzzle and around his white eye w/out an extended nose fly mask and sunscreen slathered on all summer long. Now that it's fall, he's finally got enough hair to cover it up!

As many have said, sunscreen. I use the spray on kind.. I spray a rag or my hand and rub it so it doesn't sweat into their eyes or nose as much. Aloe gel or diaper rash after a burn is soothing.. he'll be okay :)

Zinc cream works better than sunscreen. I'm just trying a new powdered sunscreen on my boy which I'm liking so far - he used to rub his zinc on any horse who walked by!
