Equine Reproduction Educational Opportunity at CSU
Please take a moment to check out the Colorado State University Equine Reproduction Laboratory Website that describes a NEW and REVISED series of owner educational courses for you, the horseman or horsewoman.
The goal of the courses is to educate horse owners, breeding farm managers, and farm/ranch personnel on current techniques in equine reproduction. The first course is titled ‘Equine Reproductive Management - Stallion, Mare and Newborn Foal’ and includes 5 days of lectures and hands-on laboratory sessions on breeding management, semen collection, semen evaluation, artificial insemination, pregnant mare management, foaling and care of the newborn foal. This is followed by a one-day course on ‘Techniques for Handling and Utilizing Frozen Equine Spermatozoa’. Participants can attend one or both of the courses. Please note that palpation and ultrasonography of the mare will not be taught in either course.
Colorado State University has been a leader in horse owner education for more than 30 years. Our goal is to provide an outstanding, practical educational opportunity and thereby benefit all aspects of the equine breeding industry.
