for a swayback?
we have a old 22 yr swayback, and we ride her with 2 pads and a synthetic saddle, but my daughter plans on doing some showing this next year with her and will have to use a leather saddle(western). i noticed she is getting a "worn" spot on her withers also. so i was looking on line at the tacky too/reinsman sway pads but you cant tell much from the ads, are they just built up in the middle? i don't want to spend that much money for something that doesn't help so does anyone have any experience with them that can give me a review.is there any thing else out there i can check into..... western risers....ect. what about a cashel foam swayback pad anyone ever used them i have the chance to buy one for about 50 bucks?
Look into Skito pads.
Have you tried a cutback pad ? Then putting another blanket over top. At my old barn most of the lesson horses were sway back and we used a thick cutback and. Thin top pad and it was fine

The Tacky Too pads have thick neoprene. They would be okay, but depending on the severity you may have to build up. I have a pony sized pad I use on old horses, since its so small I'd put it between a thin pad and the blanket to build up but not be noticeable. It fit fine, never had any marks, and it looked sharp in the show ring because no one could really notice.
