Is it safe?

I never thought it was a good idea, but today, while I was looking through horse pictures, I noticed that a person was riding a horse with side reins on. Is this ok to do? My horse gets really hallow sometimes and I need to find a way to fix it. Thanks!

If you have no clue how to use them, side reins aren't going to help and in fact may hurt.

I know how to use them. I use them all the time.

Then you should know that it is very not okay to ride with them on a horse. :?

Really? Then why were you ASKING if they were okay if you already use them? You obviously had your opinion set about them. :?

They're a crappy shortcut for actual training. If you're professional enough to use them without causing issues, then you're professional enough not to NEED them.

OK admit your age, who read the title here and saw this in their mind?

No it's not OK to ride in side reins,

ErikaLynn 11-28-2011 05:24 PM

The OP is asking if it's OK to ride in them, not to use them in general.

To answer your question...I wouldn't ride in them.

Thanks =)

i know people who ride with them on but it looks like an ingredient for disaster

Appologies for my ignorance, but what are side reins? and what are they intended to do exactly?
