My colt is 4, he is butt high its not to bad but noticeable. Neither one of his parents are butt high. He's a Quarter Horse, big boned and stocky. I've known geldings to grow height wise when their 6, you can't tell he's butt high when riding but im just wondering if he will eventually level out.

No way to know if he will level out or not. If his lineage are not known to be butt high then he most likely will level out.

The "further back" TWH's in the Generator line are butt high; I have one.

He grew height-wise until he was almost seven.

That high butt became less prominant but, if I keep him on the slender side where he really should be, his hip bones are more prominant than my other horses. He is 16.1H so at least his lanky build and high hip bones don't look quite as bad as they would on a shorter horse.

If I keep him about 30 pounds over weight, I don't see those hip bones and he looks great from that perspective.

Probably not quite what you wanted to hear - lol lol lol
