Flat Critique?

Today Pluto and I just rode on the flat. He is very stiff in his back right leg, so we mostly tired to work on picking up the right lead on that leg. Also, we worked on bending. The other horses I have ridden at my new barn will bend for you, but because of his stiffness in his leg, he doesn't like to. He is very stubborn and lazy but for some reason that makes him really fun to ride. I am hoping these pictures work. I will upload the video when it is done uploading to youtube, it takes the video a while.

VERY loose in the saddle.

Too bad your coach isn't working on that.

Best tip I can give you right now is keep your elbows in at your side. Don't move your hands or wrists, the movement comes from your elbows & ONLY up or down, not back. Keep that in mind for now.

Ok, thank you!

The only thing that's really glaring at me is your seat. You NEED to do more sitting trot work before you start cantering as you are all over the place when you canter.

We are mostly cantering on his right lead, which is really hard to sit to. Do you have any advice on how to sit to it? It is so much easier to sit on his left lead, and on other horses I can sit also.

Once you get your heals down more, stronger legs, and more balance; you'll be able to sit the canter better.

Thanks!
