Horse Show Grooming the night before
My 28 year old gelding Champ. Does not like staying clean. The day before the show, I ride him, and bath him. I use cowboymagic shampoo. Then I put slinky hood, tail bag, and leg wraps on him. But, he kicks the wraps off. Champ then rolls. It gets them all grown and green on his legs and back. But his neck stays clean. What should I do?

I put a cooler on overnight, that way at least the body stays clean.

I would put a light sheet on so his body stays clean when he roll and keep putting the slinky on since you say that works for his neck. Also, could you wash just his legs in the morning or keep him in a stall the night before the show? Or maybe you can put some boots on him that have buckles to keep them on. They might not cover all of his leg but it might help some.
That's all I can think of right now but good luck at your show and be sure to get pics! :D

Yeah ans you could also spray him with show sheen thats what I use on my horse when I dont blanket him so it will brush right off :)
