This is why my boy is sooooo special :)

i have had a vet out to see black jack today and he said he has never seen a foal with 2 hoofs like my boy he cant tell me why he has but that he cant have it taken off at the equine hospital but he will have to stay for a while. the vet has taken away the pics i am going to post to u guys to asks another vet to see if he can live his life with the other foot and it have no probs cos there dont want to have to take it off if it will damage his leg cos it on his cannon bone so will will have to see but i just thought u would let u see why my boy is one in a million.

this ia a normal pic of black jack and 2 of his foot and his extra hoof lol

That is very unique for sure
Does it bother him at all

lokis mommy 12-16-2011 02:21 PM

no not at the moment as he grows it will so it has to be removed

Awww he's cute!! Good luck with having the spare hoof/foot removed.

Country Woman 12-17-2011 06:51 PM

I hope the operation does not hurt him
good luck

I betting your best bet is going to be to have it x-rayed as well to make sure it isn't attached to anything.

This is not totally unheard of, but not common either.

I've never seen anything like that before! Very interesting. Good luck with treatment! Keep us updated!

How weird.... I have this strong urge to just poke it for some reason though.

lokis mommy 12-19-2011 08:32 AM

it dont hurt him i pick his feet up so the vet can do his job with out having to knock him out fully

this is how much gonna pay the vet to get it removed

$775.20

which is

500

but to me its all worth it as they was gonna put him down cos of this and send him for meat

is it just excess hoof or is there more to it?? it is very strange but unique for sure :)
