Moving to AZ
So, my house is in escrow,& hopefully closing by the middle of January. I'll be moving the horses after moving the household stuff. I'll be getting health certificates & the Coggins test. They will have about a 6 hour ride to their new home. Since the trailer is a slant load semi-stock I'm thinking they should have blankets on. I'll have hay nets in front of them, & I'm thinking of a couple of stops to offer them water. the floor has rubber mats which go 1/2 way up the sides. Is there anything else I need to do for their comfort? Shavings, boots?

If you think they might step on themselves, I'd use bell boots. Travelling boots tend to slide down and can cause more problems than they cure. For a 6 hr ride, I'd bed down pretty deep in shavings, it helps keep them from getting sore & stiff and keeps the pee from splashing up on their legs (if they'll pee in the trailer). It also makes your trailer easier to clean at the end of the trip.
