Quarter horse citique please
Grade gelding. Seven years old. Fifteen hands tall. Looking for a conformation critique and what do you think he would be best suited as? Currently, just a trail horse.
all i really see is a weaker loin. nice horse. kinda looks like a rope horse?
nice looking boy!
He is high in the wither (makes me think he may have some Thoroughbred in him?? Perhaps an Appendix QH?)
Long pasterns but nice legs. Has a good, deep girth, though his hindquarters could do with some muscling (also makes me think TB) His shoulder angle is quite steep but overall he's a nice, solid looking horse.
I don't see how with some training he couldn't do some minor league barrels, gymkhana-type events or even some jumping.
love the forest in the background, must be fun riding out that way
I also have to agree that his withers are pretty high and his hind quarters are pretty weak. I personally wouldn't do any more than what he currently is: pleasure/trail riding.
Good shoulder. Neck is long and set on a tiny bit low. Back is sagging a little, but think it's just lack of muscling. I think a wee bit calf kneed. girth depth good. hind end not bad, really. I think no real outstanding problems and looks like a pretty sound horse to me.
VERY posty back legs that could set him up for soundness issues, depending on how he's used, but overall a cute horse.
