7yr QH Gelding and 13yr QH Mare
I know that these are not the best pictures, but I was wondering if anyone could tell me anything they see about either of them.
PS - My mare has a noticably larger back leg. She's had three previous injuries on this leg, and yes, has minor arthritic problems in it. It's not going to get any smaller, so no need to point out it is larger.
PPS - MJ's pictures vary from last year until recently. I tried to find some pictures from various times.
First horse is RMS Thats My Story (Molly Jo). She's a 13 year old QH mare. She stands right at 15 hands, and is used for barrel racing and pole bending.
Second horse is Red Money Maker (Red). He's a 7 year old QH gelding. He is 16 hands, and is used for barrel racing and trail riding.
Further upright pasterns, touch extra limb length
QH considered. Likely shoulder blade on the upright side.
Back a touch longer but not too bad. The croup is strong
And the femur also has good length. The hind certainly
Appears as the strength of the top-line if sound. The lower
hinds cannons are not quite lining up 100%. Rear pasterns
also appear quite upright. Joints a little apply as original
post may suggest. Girth a touch on the shallower side
which is typical of the more modern breed Quarter
Horses. Good height length ratio. I would think
At her peak gains full extension prominently at faster paces.
Strong muscle type. This one is fairly adaptable and some
English may not have been out of her reach at her peak.
Thanks! I didn't post on your original post because of all of the chaos. I'm glad you were kind enough to come here and post some critiques.
Yeah, her back legs are pretty much screwed up. She still rides the same, but I imagine the arthritis will get worse with time, not to mention she has cancer.
I'm going to try and get some ideal pictures of them either tonight or tomorrow morning. I'm waiting for it to dry up a little bit so I can clean them up.
Not great confo images so restricted info.
Appears as very much the foundation type.
Shorter and stockier limbs, larger forearms,
deeper girth, large barrel. Does not appear to
possess overly strong for or hind, although
ample muscle no doubt. Longer back likely.
Appears as very strength and western oriented.
