What size pen do you need to do round pen training? I am thinking of downloading a e book from John Lyons called Round Pen: First Steps

I like a 60' pen. I used to have a 90' pen but found it was too large.

If you are just looking for a ground work pen, you can go under 60'. If you want to ride in it as well, 60' is a good all around size.

I agree, 60'. As a riding/ground work pen, ours at the barn is about 70'. For the weanlings/yearlings it's 60'.

60' is just about perfect. I really like John Lyons too. Although I grab bits and pieces from everyone I have 2 John Lyons books and I find him really easy to follow. He makes that all important common sence really make sence for me when I'm stuck. Good Luck!
