career choices need advice...
So I've been deciding if I should go to school next year and for what. In 07 i wanted to get a degree in justice studies but I can never stick with anything so I dropped out after a semester. So I have been thinking about going back and somethings I might want to do is justice studies again, paralegal, lawyer or pyschology, pharmasist and one more but I can't remember what it was. Everytime I tell someone what I want to do they say "good luck getting a job in that field of study" I say good luck getting a job in any field with this economy. So how am I suppose to look forward to going to school when I get discouraged by others. Also if you find any good website I want to try to get a look into the job I might want to go into

Do something you're interested in! If you excel in something, use your strengths-you could be working for 40 years,so it's best if you don't hate it. Good workers are usually in demand-I got 2 of my friends jobs this year & we're a small company, maybe about 20 workers,so think positive!

All the professions you've named are pretty good and needed. Now if you were saying archeologist, zoologist... then I'd be saying good luck!!

I don't know where you live, but all of these things are jobs that aren't "not" needed. If the economy in your region is particularly bad, then you might not get that job exactly, but you'll get something in the field and will eventually get the job you studied for. DOn't let others discourage you from studying. These are professions that should give you a decent job to permit you to live comfortably. If others tell you it's a waste of time and you won't get a job, well tell yourself education is NEVER a waste of time. You'll get a better job with one of those degrees than without one.

If I am not mistaken pharmacists are quite in demand and it's a good paying job. If you like sciences in general (especially chemistry), and have a really good memory, then I'd say go for it. The only difficulty with pharmacy is that there are a lot of drugs to remember by heart, but if you have the will and capacity to learn them, then it shouldn't be a problem!

Good luck and don't worry about what others say. I think it's great you want to go back to school and get an education. :)

Career Test Center - Discover your ideal career

Complete List of Careers | Jobs | Career Choices

These two websites seem rather good. The first is more of a "take a test to see what career is right for you", and the other is descriptions of the careers you're interested in.

The only thing is I'm not good at anything. So its hard to know what I can or what to do. There really isn't a demand in any of the jobs I listed where I live I would havee to move away. The things I like to do won't get me any where (horses and drawing) I use to work for a lawyer and found some of the stuff she did interesting but I don't remember it too well.

Sometimes you need to re-locate in order to find a job in the field you love to do. I have to commute an hour each way to work for the job I love to do. Sometimes it's just what you have to do... it can be a good thing or how a bad thing, it all depends on your attitude toward it. Don't let anybody discourage you from what you want to study.

There are tests out there that can help you determine what you like to do, and tell you some of the fields you can go into based on that. I'm a veterinary technician ... I never knew I wanted to be a veterinary technician. All I knew was that I had a passion for helping animals. I didn't know if I would be good in this field until I started studying it.

Do what you love to do and don't let anyone tell you otherwise. There are many careers in the horse field and animal field if that's what you love to do.

Go to college. Take general ed courses as an "undeclared" major...find what you love and do it.

Balance what you love with what kind of money you want to be making.
I love love LOVED physical anthroplogy. But there isn't a lot of money in it unless you're awesome and lucky. So instead, I'm doing forensics biology. It's not quite the same thing, but loving phys anth lead me there, and by looking up jobs, I looked into what is needed and what would be an acceptable amount of money.

So yeah...general ed. It can be helpful ;)

How good are you at writing? Because in law school you need to write a lot of papers. Papers like the difference between this "legal thing" (sorry don't know the terms, but my cousin is studying to be a lawyer) and this other "legal thing".

Lets just say i am a really strong writer and some people take offense to some of the things i write and i don't ever mean to come off as rude but it sounds that way ( its just the way i write). I just have been told i am a powerful writer and alot of people have loved some of the stuff i write such as notes or papers i wrote in school or letters etc
